Thank you for your interest in my Perfect Golf Swing System of instruction. My name is Roger Ide. I started in golf as an Assistant Professional at Diablo Country Club in Danville, California in December of 1964. At that time I could not break 95. The first Professional tournament I played in I shot 90. Embarrassing to say the least, but I wanted to be a good player, so with the help of various professionals that I worked with I practiced and studied the golf swing inside and out. I soon became competitive with my peers but it was obvious that the tour was not in the picture and teaching was the direction I was going. At present I have given over 75,000 golf lessons. Not bad for someone who started out a raw rookie. I studied the great players from Bobby Jones, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Tiger Woods; not only their swings but their practice techniques. I also made a point of studying how the average golfers practice. Talk about two different worlds. In my mind if I want to be successful at something I want to find out what the common denominators are of the most successful people in that field. What do they all do the same? I've studied the top teachers-Leadbetter, Harmon, Hanney, McLean. There are common thoughts and concepts that they all have and I have put them together in an easy to follow system. You can take my system to any level, get a little better and have some fun with friends, or improve to a low handicap level. It will all depend on what you want and how much time you want to devote to practicing. I have refined practice drills so you can practice at home without a ball when you can't make it to the practice range. These drills will make good use ofthetime you have to practice. Most practice time is a total waste because people simply do not practice properly. A little time doing the right thing is much better than beating balls on the range with no idea of what you're trying to accomplish.
If you are interested in playing better golf by improving your golf swing through the best fundamental golf lessons possible, or properly fit golf clubs I have a program for you. If you are just beginning and want to learn good fundamentals from the start, I have a program for you.
I never comment on someone's golf swing without videotaping them. We are visual learners. I use the JC Video System. I have over 500 swings from various touring pros. Seeing your swing step by step in slow motion next to Tiger or one of his buddies is tremendously helpful. Without video tape we cannot get a truepicture of the sequence of the weight transfer, or hand release. When we see ourselves and see the best swings on the planet side by side a whole new world opens up. Every drill or movement I give my students, I show a touring professional doing thevery same move. The pros are our guideline. They are the best swing on the planet and we want to come as close as possible to them. I do a before and after and give you a CD that you can take home and study. You will have your swing and the touring pro that I compare you with. This will be valuable for future improvement. The United States Golf Association claims that 95% of all golfers will hit a plateau somewhere between three and five years. The average male golfer shoots 97 and the average female shoots 114. I will guaranee you that is a lot more fun to play better, and become more consistent than it is to continue to shoot the same scores over and over without improvement.
