Just a quick reminder: Help support Yuma Adventist by attending the tostada fundraiser on Saturday night, after Vespers. Remember, the ABC will be there too!
Home and School Meeting: This Tuesday, August 31, there will be Home and School meeting right after school dismissal. Please meet with us in the gym for a meeting of great importance to every parent. Then move to your child’s room for a message from his or her teacher. The meeting will not last over 45 minutes. If you cannot be there, please have the individual picking up your child stay in your place.
The countdown has begun! School begins at 8:15 on Monday, August 16! Mrs. Boundey and I are preparing our classrooms for a fantastic year! We are looking forward to having your child or children at Yuma Adventist Christian School this fall. If you have friends looking for a school, we will have registration on Tuesday, August 10 from 3-6. We can enroll a very limited number of students.
As a reminder, uniforms are required. This year, belts must be worn and shirts must be tucked in. In grades 3-8, tennis shoes that tie are required for p.e. If your child does not wish to wear tennis shoes all day, a pair can be kept at the school. For safety reasons, let me repeat, the shoes must be tied. (Velcro strips are also allowed.)
The uniform pants and shorts should be khaki. When your child is standing erect, the shorts must be longer than their fingers. We are striving for modesty in the classroom and on the playground!
Our uniform shirts are regular uniform polo shirts. There are four color choices: white, light blue, dark blue and forest green. A long-sleeved shirt with a polo collar is a great idea for winter if your child tends to be cold. Light jackets without pattern or words can be worn in the classroom but it must zip or button. Pull-over sweatshirts are not allowed. Hats cannot be worn in the classroom.
If you have any questions, please call the school. We are in the classroom every day from 9-3 with the exception of Monday, August 9.
We are looking forward to seeing you Monday, August 16. Please have your child at school at least ten minutes before it begins. If this is your childs first day, I encourage you to walk him/her to the classroom, say goodbye and leave. It will be difficult, possibly for both of you, but they do settle in faster when it happens like this. Be sure to remind the child you will be back at 3:30. Tears go away faster when they can no longer see mommy or daddy! If they would happen to be inconsolable, I promise that you will be called!
Enjoy the last few days of summer with your children!
Just a reminder that August 16 is our first day of school for the 2010-2011 school year. While we are off having our summer fun (I’m taking college classes and loving it!) we are looking forward to the start of the new school year. This will be our first year to have kindergarten and we are really excited. When you drive past the school, be sure to check out our new kindergarten playground, put together by a group of wonderful volunteers! Keep having fun and we’ll see you next fall!
God has blessed our school with a quickly growing student body for the 2010-2011 school year. We are currently 64% full. Early registration ends on Friday, June 4th at 2:00 pm. Our regular registration will begin August 3rd; school begins on August 16th, 2010.
We are happy to announce the opening of ourKINDERGARTEN class for 2010-2011. This will be an all day kindergarten. It begins on August 16 and classes are held from 8:15 AM through 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. On Friday school is held from 8:15 AM through 12:30 PM.
We teach elementary grades K-8, and are operated and supported by the Yuma, Arizona Seventh-day Adventist Churches.

We are a small school with a low teacher to student ratio. Yuma Adventist is a place where children can learn in a family-oriented Christian environment.
In order to safeguard the scholastic, spiritual, and moral atmosphere of the school, students and parents are expected to support the principles and regulations of the school.
