One of the many reasons Corinne Cain has become globally recognized as a highly skilled appraiser is that she is the only appraiser internationally accredited in both Fine and American Indian Arts. Her ability to instantly recognize the creator of a piece of art is often dubbed a savant talent, and is one of the reasons she has successfully continued her practice for more than 35 years.
Her appraisal competency covers Japanese woodblock prints, fine original prints from various cultures spanning as many as four centuries as well as American and European paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography. She is also proficient in valuing American Indian basketry, jewelry, kachinas, pottery and textiles. Her talent as an expert witness has shortened many legal proceedings, due to her ability to expose critical information regarding a piece of art.
Corinne has coined the term Asset Shepherding to describe her capability of assessing the quality of art works. In essence, Corinne can review many works of art and rapidly separate the wheat from the chaff.
Call it immersion or obsession, the challenge of doing the work well continues for her.
