To Save a Life: Stop the Bullying
One in three teens report being cyberbullied or knowing someone who'd been cyberbullied. What is cyberbullying? Willfully and repeatedly harming others through computers, cell phones, and social websites. Cyberbullies harass, threaten, humiliate, or otherwise intimidate their peers. For example, youth can send hurtful text messages to others, spread rumors or post sensitive videos on such sites as Facebook, MySpace and YouTube.
The Gateway Church of Christ, in Gilbert, is holding a 1-day event called “To Save A Life” for teens addressing this ever-growing problem. Featured speakers include Will Sullivan, personal coach to major athletes and David Yee, PsyD candidate and successful local youth minister.
Sessions to provide insight on how to deal with bullying and how parents can help their teens if the they become a victim or the perpetrator. Meals and fun activities planned including a screening of the movie “To Save a Life”.
