We are Ric and Cheryl Murphy owners of Precision Model Distributors (PMD) from Mesa, Arizona (Ric is the designer of the Tryon Viper). We distribute 1:16 scale and 1:14.5 scale R/C (radio controlled) or static display model trucks, trailers and construction equipment.

WEDICO Trucks & Construction Models of Germany is our primary supplier. Our product line for WEDICO includes trucks, trailers and construction equipment.

The trucks are; Peterbilt 359, 1979 Freightliner COE, Freightliner Conventional and Freightliner Century Class, MAN, Mercedes, Scania and DAF trucks.

Caterpillar the best name in Heavy Duty equipment, along with the best name in metal R/C models WEDICO, have come together to produce excellent R/C construction models. The 966G II Wheel Loader was the first Caterpillar model produced by WEDICO. Just like the real one this is all metal with a real hydraulic system operating at 174 psi. At 18 lbs., and having a full metal 3 speed transmission and 15:1 metal planetary differentials gives the 966G II the power to go into a pile of dirt and spin the wheels to get a full bucket of material. The 966G II is a good choice to load the Caterpillar 740 Dumper. At 31 lbs. and having 6 wheel drive this unit can go almost anywhere to deliver a load. Need to dig a deep hole try WEDICO's new Caterpillar 345D Excavator, it can move some material! Construction equipment is supplied as a full kit with a few options.

We also distribute products from Damitz Modelltechnik, EBH Style, Osswald Modellbau, Rust, Servonaut, Stahl Modellbau, and Tamiya America. From these suppliers we carry products such as; air ride suspension, fenders, ESC (electronic speed controllers) and sound systems, drive components, aluminum wheels, Cross force off road tires and many more products for use on WEDICO and Tamiya truck tractors and trailers.

Stahl Modellbau of Germany also has a product line of all metal construction equipment; Leibherr 922 Excavator, Leibherr 742 Dozer, Liebherr 633 Track Dozer, Bomag BW 213-D3, Honomag 66C, Komatsu WA500-3, and Volvo Dumper A25C. Stahl also has a full line of mini hydraulics (cylinders, pumps, valves, fittings, sleeves, hydraulic line, and oil).

At PMD we produce a wide variety of Semi Trailers for WEDICO and Tamiya Road Tractors; American style 53' Dry Van, billet machined "light weight" 48' American style Flatbed, 8 Car Hauler, and American style Low Boys. Our biggest trailer is a 14 axle 300 Ton Heavy Haul.

We also produce parts that give the Mini Truckers the option to customize their trucks with items like; polished aluminum Texas Square bumpers having 16 working lights, billet machined aluminum Headache Rack for safety chains, hooks and binders, Vortex air cleaners, several polished exhaust stack sizes and shapes, US style tail lights, square 379 Peterbilt type headlights, aluminum wheels, trucker ladies, chrome trim, dashboard overlays, and even Caterpillar licensed mud flaps. For the complete line visit the PMD COMPANY STORE.

We also offer a large variety of electrical and mechanical components for the scratch builder, all available in the PMD COMPANY STORE.

Long popular in Europe, scale R/C model trucking gives the hobbyist the best of two worlds; building and driving. While driving they are performing tasks in the same manner that model railroaders do, delivering freight and driving in a scale model world that can be created indoors or in the back yard.

The driving skills are very different from R/C racing which requires fast reflexes. R/C trucking requires slow exact movement and judgment, especially when backing a loaded Flatbed Trailer into a loading dock or traveling down a road and making a proper turn while pulling a pair of 20 ft. pups. Enjoy the fun of driving week after week without incurring damage, the opposite of what happens when racing R/C cars.

R/C trucks are active, offering options like "real" miniature hydraulic systems on dump trucks and dump trailers, capable of hauling 10 pounds of sand; tanker trucks that have inner compartment that can transport anything from model airplane fuel to fine Cognac.

The detail on a WEDICO Peterbilt tractor at 1:16 scale is incredible with; opening doors and hood, detailed interior, a full compliment of working lights, and diesel sound with air horns. This adds to the realism that model railroaders have enjoyed for years.

All models start as "KITS" or "COMPENENT KITS". This gives the builder the option to order a "Custom Kit", meaning the owner operator can select all the components and parts. Start with a cab, frame, add a sleeper, 5 different chassis wheel bases, single or twin motors, 3 speed transmission with a 1 or 2 speed auxiliary transmission, open or locking differentials, polished and checker plate aluminum fenders, swan hood ornament, stop blocks, fire extinguisher, Alcoa aluminum wheels, and other decorative items that a real diesel road tractor has.

The investment can be as low as $450.00 for a basic Tamiya King Hauler Kit and go as high as $6,000.00 for a full custom WEDICO truck or anywhere in-between depending on what the customer desires for power or bling.

The first model R/C truck club in the United States was founded by Lee Bilinsky in Michigan; contact the Michigan Mini Truckers Club on our forum at www.GardenTruckingForum.com.

There are two additional clubs in the United States; East Coast Mini Truckers Club and Tri State Mini Truckers Club. Also the Australian Mini Truckers Club in Australia, check them out at www.GardenTruckingForum.com.
