He is co-author of several other DUI Defense Treatises around the nation. He is a contributing author to the 5th Edition of the treatise: Medical-Legal Aspects of Alcohol which is a text used by forensic toxicologists across the world and serves as the text for the Borkenstein School at Indiana University.
Tucson drunk driving lawyer, Joseph P. St. Louis is certified by the Arizona State Bar as a Specialist in Criminal Law, and was voted one of Arizona's top attorneys by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2009 and 2010. Mr. St. Louis's work has lead directly to the Tucson Police Crime Laboratory changing the manner in which it conducts blood alcohol tests, and most recently to the Pima County Attorney's Office changing the manner in which it conducts Grand Jury presentations in felony DUI cases. He served as president of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice in 2006, and served as a Justice of the Peace Pro Temp in the Pima County Justice Court in 2003. In 2004 he obtained life sentences in two death penalty cases tried to juries, including Pima County’s first case in which a jury decided both the guilt and penalty phases. He has successfully argued that his clients should be granted directed verdicts of acquittal in two other first degree murder cases and persuaded the Arizona Supreme Court to strike down a portion of a statute.
