If you've never been to a Center for Spiritual Living before, we basically believe that there's one God, many paths to that God, and we're here to love, honor, and support you, no matter what your divine path may be.

"We are living in an Intelligent Universe, which responds to our mental states. To the extent that we learn to control these mental states, we shall automatically control our environment. "
~ Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind

Science of Mind is part of The New Thought Movement. New Thought is a spiritual movement which developed in the United States during the late 19th century and emphasizes metaphysical beliefs. It consists of a loosely allied group of religious denominations, secular membership organizations, authors, philosophers, and individuals who share a set of metaphysical beliefs concerning the effects of positive thinking, the law of attraction, healing through prayer, life force, creative visualization and personal power. It promotes the ideas that "Infinite Intelligence" or "God" is ubiquitous, spirit is the totality of all things, true human selfhood is divine, divine thought is a force for good, all sickness originates in the mind, and 'right thinking' has a healing effect.

Although New Thought is neither monolithic nor doctrinaire, in general, modern day adherents of New Thought believe that their interpretation of "God" or "Infinite Intelligence" is "supreme, universal, and everlasting", that divinity dwells within each person, that all people are spiritual beings, and that "the highest spiritual principle is loving one another unconditionally . . . and teaching and healing one another", and that "our mental states are carried forward into manifestation and become our experience in daily living".

'Science of Mind' evolved from the teachings of Ernest Holmes, based on his 1926 book, Science of Mind. Read more about 'Science of Mind,' aka Religious Science

A Religious Science Practitioner is a person of high spiritual consciousness and deep understanding; trained through the study of Science of Mind, in the art, science, and skill of spiritual mind treatment (affirmative prayer); practitioners are dedicated to the cause of helping others; licensed by the United Centers for Spiritual Living to practice professionally; bound by a high code of ethics to respect your confidence.

When you call on a practitioner, know that you are in contact with someone who has devoted time and effort to learning how to offer effective affirmative prayer for others. A practitioner is an invaluable resource when there is a need for spiritual healing and can assist you in expanding your possibilities. See our list of Licensed Practitioners
