What is a Veterinary Specialist?

Veterinary Medicine Degree.
One year post graduate internship or equivalent private practice experience.
Two to three year residency under the supervision of board-certified specialists.

During emergency hours animals arrive with a wide variety of conditions from minor emergencies to life-threatening illnesses. Our emergency doctor will complete an assessment of your pet and give options for treatment at SAVSEC. Alternatively, ongoing care at your veterinarian or at home may be recommended.
