Fall is here and that means flu season is upon us again! Did you know that dogs have their own flu virus too? Similar to human flu, this newly emerging virus is contagious and spread mostly by coughing, sneezing, or contaminated objects (i.e. chew toy). Symptoms include: coughing, fever, nasal discharge, lethargy, and in severe cases leads to pneumonia. FORTUNATELY, THERE IS A CANINE FLU VACCINE. This vaccine helps your pet stay healthy if exposed to the virus. Our doctors advise this vaccine for any dog considered at risk - this includes dogs who visit groomers, boarding facilities, dog parks or even just go on walks. Please visit our 'Articles page' for more details or call our office to schedule a flu shot appointment for your furry friend today!

Once again, we are participating in the annual 'Presents 4 Pets' collection drive and we are asking for your help! Presents 4 Pets is a nationwide program that helps support local animal shelters & rescue groups. Please help these homeless pets by donating any new or gently used: toys, treats, blankets, towels, beds, collars, leashes or pet food.

Our clinic is a donation drop-off site and any contribution is greatly appreciated! Donations now being accepted through November 30th. Thank you!

For our clients (and their pets) affected by the Iams Pet Food Recall this past summer: We are happy to report that Iams CANINE LOW-RESIDUE BAGS are available again! 5lb, 15lb, and 30lb are now in stock. Unfortunately, all other Iams Veterinary diets are not available yet but expected to return in the near future.

Reverse Sneezing Overview Reverse sneezing is a common phenomenon in dogs. In a regular sneeze, your dog pushes air out through the nose; however, in a reverse sneeze, air is pulled rapidly into the nose. During a reverse sneeze, your dog will make rapid and long inspirations, stand still with his elbows spread apart, extend his head, and his eyes may bulge. Each reverse sneezing episode generally lasts for one to two minutes.
