Help Fill The Pakistan Flood Relief Container through November 20, 2010

The UN says there are still 650,000 families still displaced by the flooding from the August monsoons in Pakistan. And a cold winter is coming.

Matter of Trust has partnered with Oregon's St. Vincent de
Paul Society, The East Bay Depot For Creative Reuse, and
many others to help fill a container bound for camps in huge
need for gifts in kind. If you have any of the items listed
(used but in good condition) please send or drop them off to the:

HOW YOU CAN HELP NOW It's a little silly to drill for oil to make oil-based synthetic booms to soak up oily run-off from streets after storms. Especially when there is so much recycled material available.

We welcome all marinas and boat owners that can use bilge pads and provide feed back on the design. And we're reaching out to construction sites and Public Works departements that can take donated waddles.

It is not easy to manufacture in the US and compete with international prices. As a charity, we are well placed to research and chronicle the challenges and successes from A to Z in using recycled materials and making widgets on a small scale, city by city, using local networks. We are grateful for all input and participation team@matteroftrust.org

We are collaborating with universities and green jobs programs throughout the US to research the best designs and efficiency for these items and green business models.

Hair, feathers, fur & fleece clippings are abundant, renewable, natural fibers that soak up petroluem.

Booms are good for oil spills and waddles are good for preventing toxic runoff and soil erosion.

Thanks to all of you, this year hundreds of thousands of boxes, bags, truckloads and envelopes of hair, feathers, fur & fleece clippings were sent in. See our Photos.

There is no room to accept any more boxes at this time and we don't want to see any boxes returned.

NOW WE NEED HELP CREATING GREEN JOBS
Thanks to you, we all know that recycling hair, fur, fleece, nylons and burlap coffee bean bags is possible in the US. Now we need to find continual end users for the products people can make with these materials. Construction site waddles and Marina bilge pads are good ideas that you have brought to us.
