Northland-Rural Therapy Associates, LLC, (NRTA) formerly
operated as two agencies, Northland Speech and Hearing,
providing speech and language services, and Rural Therapy
Services, providing occupational and physical therapies. Both
agencies had been in business for 10 + years. These two
companies merged in May 2004 and Maureen Russell, former
director of Rural Therapy, became director of NRTA.
NRTA currently contracts with approximately 24 schools
which include public schools, charter and grant schools, and
schools under the direction of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Home, clinic and community based services are provided
through the Division of Developmental Disabilities, the
Arizona Early Intervention Program, private insurance and
self-pay. Hospital and home health care services for adults are
provided on a limited basis.
