Getting a good night’s sleep is key to remaining healthy and happy. Adults are supposed to get anywhere from seven to nine hours of sleep each night. Getting this much sleep allows your body to charge

            One thing you can try is avoiding napping during the day. This is not a problem if you nap in the early morning, but late afternoon naps are definitely not going to help you. A two hour nap is going to make it very difficult to fall asleep at a decent time at night. If you feel tired during the afternoon, try going for a walk to wake your body back up. Then go to bed earlier to fully restore your body’s energy.

            Another tip that can be done is to cut out caffeinated drinks before bed. The recommended time to cut off caffeinated drinks is at least 3 hours before you go to bed. Caffeine gives you an energy rush that will definitely keep you from falling asleep. Caffeinated drinks include; regular coffee, soda, hot chocolate, and energy drinks. Instead of drinking those drinks try instead; water, decaf coffee, and decaffeinated tea. This will keep your energy level low and prevent energy rushes so that you can fall asleep.

            Also make sure that you do not eat food within two hours before you want to go to sleep. In most cases, food will give your body energy. This obviously will not help you go to sleep on you comfy latex mattress. Not eating anything will allow your body to focus on preparing itself for sleep rather than digesting food.

            The last tip is to remove all electronics before you go to sleep. Having electronics close to you give you reasons to stay awake. A television keeps providing reasons to stay awake rather than sleep. Your cell phone will keeps going off and keep you awake. If you cellphone or tablet lights up during the night, it will wake you up. Instead of allowing these distractions, get rid of them. Put your TV remote across the room next to the television. Charge your cellphone in the other room. Put your computer, or tablet, across the room so that you can go to sleep. Getting rid of this distraction will allow you to go to sleep, and have a good night’s sleep.
